TriStar motorcycle owner Mark Smith announced today is Eric McClure from the guide line of the organization in 2011, further expanding its presence in the team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Starting with a drive 4 COPD 300 at Daytona, McClure returned to the family and the pilot TriStar Chevrolet impalas for full-time Nationwide Series.

Heavy (R) brand, one of the longest running partner in the Nationwide Series, will continue its relationship with McClure for the sixth consecutive season, serving as a major sponsor of the 34 scheduled events.

McClure, a 31-year-old resident of Chilhowie, VA, will compete in the fifth season of NNS competition. Drivers in Virginia, who finished a career best finish 17th in the NNS driver point in 2009, has 137 NNS starts and three Sprint Cup Series starts under his belt, with best finish 15th and 26, respectively.

TriStar Motorsports began as a series of Sprint Cup team at the end of 1980, before becoming Pro Motor Engines, a successful independent company building the engine provides the power groups, each of the first three series of NASCAR. The team returned to competition in 2010 Nationwide Series with drivers Tony Raines, Jason Keller and Jeff Green, scoring a Top 5, and 3 Top 10 finishes.

(What are your expectations for 2011 season and a new team?)

"I look forward to joining TriStar motorcycle in 2011. They have a great nucleus in place as a multi-car team last year was able to achieve very little success and develop their racing team. I think that is proof of their quality of drivers and staff who have, and certainly Mark Smith, who was a runner in every sense of the word. He reminds me very much of my father and brother, when their team is built over the years.
