Jeff Burton Repeats at Texas! - SCI April 16th Issue

The next stop on the Nextel Cup schedule is Phoenix International Raceway

The following week, NASCAR gears for the ultimate test for new cars tomorrow as the teams head Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) for underground Fresh Fit 500th This year's spring race at Phoenix will mark the first time new car tomorrow, ever seen a single one mile, low-banked, asphalt follow the sun drenched desert nestled in the hills outside Phoenix.

That's right! To date, no test sessions were run with the new COT's in Phoenix. Unlike the previous COT races at Bristol and Martinsville, where the teams are officially testing session before actually racing on the track, drivers and crews to enter next weekend's blind to the new crib is to respond to the challenges and Pir.

What is even more uncomfortable on the team that Phoenix is truly a unique track. Most of the tracks on the Nextel Cup circuit have similar tracks, where a team can go and do the tests. However, there is no other asphalt tracks in the U.S. similar enough to Phoenix that will allow teams the opportunity to practice with their new cars.

is usually at this point would give you a list of drivers to watch based on historical results. However, given the huge uncertainties for next week's race, I'll give you my gut feeling. Expect a top team, Hendrick and Roush Racing motorcycle, do best in Phoenixu.KREVETIĆ project for most teams is overwhelming. However, Roush and Hendrick have more manpower to the development of their cots. More man power in stores translates to more horsepower on the track come Sunday.

Burton Sets Course for Richard Childress Racing!

Last year we saw a revival of Richard Childress Racing. Not since Dale Earnhardt, we saw the driver of RCR as a candidate not only for racing but for the championship.

Some skeptics thought last year was an anomaly. No team could compete with the likes of Hendrick and Roush Racing motor in the new era of NASCAR. Even the man who won six championships with Dale Earnhardt, Richard Childress, he could not do it.

Hopefully, Jeff Burton win yesterday in the Samsung / RADIOSHACK 500 at Texas Motor Speedway RCR proved doubters wrong. In just five races this year, RCR has won a combined two Nextel Cup, Daytona 500 and yesterday's race. Only one other team, Hendrick Motorsports, did better.

This is Mikey, Mikey, Mikey!

If you were a sales representative for NAPA Auto Parts, what would you do? Your chief spokesman, Michael Waltrip, who have paid millions of dollars to showcase your business on the racetrack, did not qualify for every race this year except Daytona. Oh, and do not forget to Daytona is a bit of negative publicity associated with the whole cheating thing.

It seems that in trying to do the unthinkable, the field three Nextel Cup teams to use the latest equipment from the NASCAR car manufacturer, Toyota, Michael Waltrip has stretched himself thin, and their organization. In this way, you could be jeopardizing the quality of other sponsors, such as UPS, and is currently signed up with your team?

For Michael's sake, let's hope that he can correct our present course! And if he asked, I would strongly suggest that some young, talented driver to drive the government from the hood, while he took care of business management. What is a famous saying, any shit and get off the pot? I think it's time for Michael to get off the pot.

Samsung / Radio Shack 500 at Texas Highway Recap

is going in the Samsung / Radio Shack 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, NASCAR Cup driver has not ever won more than one race in Texas. Everything changed yesterday, Jeff Burton went on to win the second time by passing Matt Kenseth on the final lap. Winning ten years ago at the inaugural NASCAR race in Texas, Burton won at the track in 10th anniversary with another win, 19 career.

Ten years of racing in Texas has adopted ten separate winners. Not included in that list of winners of the four-time champion Jeff Gordon. Starting on the pole at the beginning of 500, Gordon held the top position for much the race leading 173 of 334 laps. Do not win, Gordon has completed four race winning streak that saw Hendrick Motorsports driver to the checkered flag.

after missing the last two races, while deciding to run a limited schedule in 2007, Mark Martin finished in third place in only his fifth years.3 race. place finish moved Martin to 12 in points. During the five races that Mark has participated in this year, his average finish is fifth.

If the Chase for the Championship began today, Martin would be qualifying. This brings up an interesting scenario for NASCAR, a driver could race a limited schedule and still qualify for the Chase? Mathematically it is possible. But it could never happen in the old system.

and other drivers in mind:

Tony Stewart suffered another accident when Juan Pablo Montoya raised to follow through turn and rubbed against the Tony Stewart.Čekić sent Tony Stewart to spiral out of control. Stewart was never able to recover and finished the race in 25th place. He now sits ninth in points.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran up front at times during the race but got caught in the unfortunate end of a race incident. Tony Stewart Earnhardt slowed down and forced to brake. This resulted in Kyle Busch ramming him hard from behind and taking it out utrke.Ak twist came at the end when the teams # 5 car has made enough repairs to get the car back on track. However, their driver was no where to be found. So instead, they asked Earnhardt Jr. to run the last few laps in the # 5 car, and he obliged.

Kasey Kahne was uneventful and peaceful day. He finished the race in 20th place, and now sits in 33rd points.
