Motorsports Marketing in the Offseason

Let's be honest. None of us really like the racing off-season all that much. For our "gear head" down time between late autumn and spring is near torture. Fortunately, however, there are many things you can do to reflect on the past season, and start looking towards the next.

One of the most important thing is to start getting your marketing activities are in compliance. Remember, there are dozens of other drivers and teams on the track competing for the same sponsors, exposure, and (let's be honest here) the money. It does not take into account the myriad of other drivers and teams on the other tracks in your area.

Fortunately, however, there are some simple things you can do during your time to start putting your marketing efforts in order.
Start Budget

Racing is expensive. It is a fact života.Problem is what is so damn addicting. In this modern age of motoring, everything costs more. Fuel prices are rising exponentially. Parts are becoming more and more pieces of specially designed. Unfortunately, it all boils down to money. To be competitive you must be willing to forgive him. Nobody wants to be a "field filler ".
off-season is the perfect time to start putting together your racing budget, and can even give you a little more time to save up some extra dough. Sit down and write down all of its potential costs for the upcoming season.

Do you plan on making any big purchases? New chassis? Hauler? This time of year is perfect time to start looking for deals on these great stavke.Puno people just decided to move up, or leave the sport entirely.
What are your anticipated expenses for consumables such as tires and fuel? Setting aside the money now, will make it much easier to swallow when season comes around.
What do you think about your team and the crew? Most of the songs are an early bird special for pit passes. Make sure you keep these deadlines in mind, you could potentially save a load of cash. Also, start thinking about your team apparel. Are you old crew shirts getting a little ratty? Now is the time to think about ordering some new ones.

Sponsor Hunt
there is one thing can not be stressed enough when it comes to local sponsorships, and that is to start work early.
If you have an existing relationship between the sponsor, make sure you contact them now. Most companies set up or have already set up, their advertising budgets for the year, you must be sure that you are involved. Even if you're working with someone for many years, make sure to give them a call and tighten their plans for the upcoming season. Times are tough, and if you do not keep lines of communication open with their sponsors, they can cut their funding, and worse still, omitted altogether.

You should also be on constant lookout for new sponsorship opportunities. We all know how difficult it is looking for sponsorship can be, especially for those of us who are not "people people". We understand that you are a driver, but sometimes you also have to play the role of business people. Believe it or not, there are many business owners out there who are not only willing but excited to pursue sponsorship deals. Believe me, as a small business owner, I see your name on the track never loses its luster.

The fact is, start working immediately, and beat the rush when the spring comes around and everyone else is rushing to the owners of the door looking for the same thing. Have a nice presentation, dress professionally and get out there.
Keeping in contact with their fans,

Another very important thing to remember is to do in the offseason to get in touch with your fans. Remember, these people are just as addicted to races such as, in some cases even more depressed that the season is over. Letting them know what you do helps keep them excited for the upcoming season. When you are excited, they will be more likely to be on the opening day of the course. When they arrive at the track, they will see their new sponsors. When they saw their new sponsors, well ... to see what I'm driving.

In this day of information technology, keeping your fan base to date has never been simpler. Everyone is on-line and web sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace are full of fans eager to update. Also, do not forget to personal driver and team website updated with current news, information, and next season's schedule.
out of season can be painful, but keeping up with the legwork will help it pass. You'll be back on track in no time!
